PlayForge

Privacy policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

PlayForge is run by Ram Raju in India (“we”). This policy explains what the PlayForge website, dashboard, Chrome extension and PlayForge Runner collect, why, where it goes, and the choices you have. Write to eramrajurr@gmail.com with any question.

In short: the extension only records the browser tab you start a recording in, until you stop. Passwords are masked. We don't sell data, show ads or use tracking cookies.

What we collect

DataWhy
Your account: name, e-mail, username (if set), role, and your password stored as a one-way hashTo sign you in and show who is on your team
Your organization: its name, plan and usage countsTo group your team's projects and apply limits
Projects: name, the address of the site you test, an optional description and repository addressTo organize your tests
Recordings: the clicks and typing in the recorded tab, page addresses, the elements you picked for checks, and the site's API requests with their JSON responsesTo generate the test and check it against real data
Generated tests: the test plan, its code, run results and logsTo show, run, repair and export your tests
AI usage: tokens and cost per generation and repairSo admins can see what each test costs
One-time links for password reset, e-mail confirmation and invitations (stored only as a hash)To let you reset a password, confirm your e-mail or join a team
Error reports: the error message, where in the code it happened, the page address without its query string, the app version and your user id. Tokens, passwords and e-mail addresses are removed first; nothing you typed or recorded is includedTo find and fix problems

Passwords and fields that look like secrets are masked in the extension before they leave your browser. If a test needs a secret to run, the dashboard asks you for it at run time, uses it only for that run and doesn't store it.

The Chrome extension

The extension does nothing until you start a recording or a test run from the PlayForge dashboard. It then works only in the tab it opens for that purpose, and stops when you stop or close the tab. It sends recordings only to PlayForge's own servers. It asks for these Chrome permissions:

The use of information received from the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Recordings are used only to build, run and repair your tests. They are not sold, not used for advertising or credit decisions, and not read by people except to fix a problem you report or when the law requires it.

PlayForge Runner, for companies that block extensions, runs this same extension in its own Chromium window on your computer and follows the same rules. It keeps that window's sign-ins on your computer.

To generate or repair a test we send Anthropic a summary of the recording, the relevant API data and, for repairs, the run log. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API isn't used to train its models.

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.

Cookies and storage

The dashboard keeps your sign-in in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Google Fonts may see your IP address when this site loads its fonts.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, projects, recordings and tests while your account exists. One-time links expire within 7 days at most. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your organization's data within 30 days, unless you're one of several members, in which case we remove you and leave the team's data with the team.

Your choices

Security

Data travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. Each organization only sees its own projects, recordings and tests, and team roles limit who can change them.

Children

PlayForge is a tool for software teams and isn't meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell account holders by e-mail before the change takes effect.
